Description

This was my first attempt at a pano.

We went out for a trek on Christmas eve up some rather steep footpaths for a couple of miles through the Blackmore Vales. I was very pleased to see an Ordinance Survey Trig Point atop the hill
( [link] ). The points are totally level and always on top of the highest point around so make a v good surface to stand the tripod on and take panoramic pictures.

This one was a 360 deg pan but for some inexplicable reason i missed of the last 2 photos.

I will certainly be going back to do this again, either for sunrise or as this one was sunset. I wish we had had some moor warm clothing and maybe a flask of soup or something as it got cold very quickly and we had to quick smart it back to the van. The sky turned bright red and orange about 5 mins after we had packed up and set of down the hill. I took some snaps, (heres one [link] )it was fantastic, hence ill def be going back to redo this. Also at some point ill edit the first 8 or 9 raw files (the overexposed left third).

So yea, quite pleased with that, learnt a lot and got an ok result. Defiantly feeling inspired, the exercise was good to.

This one is a seriously resized and compressed jpg version at 1.72meg file size and 8377 x 807pixels
(compared to the original monster a stitched jpg export from the 22 raw files - 129Mb and 41,835 x 3987pixels)

I used this prog to resize [link] and the hugin software to stitch [link]
This is best viewed by way of "download image" tab or clicking here ---> [link]

Hope you like it - i had fun with this one and it was nice to get out with Rowan [link] sprog and pig [link] all of whom are in the bottom left corner. Its like playing wares wally XD

Oh yea, i put a 5pixel medium green boarder round it with the resize software
